Roman counts representing Macerich in the preleasing of 575,000 square feet and Tamares in the leasing of 750,000 square feet, both at trophy office buildings in Tysons, as a few of his proudest professional accomplishments.

Erik McLaughlin

McLaughlin will be the Co-Managing Director for Northern Virginia leasing at Stream. He served as a Senior Vice President at CBRE since 2006. McLaughlin has 27 years of leasing experience and says assembling and working alongside the top leasing team in Northern Virginia has been one of his proudest professional accomplishments.

Carter Byrnes

She was a Director of Property Management before the promotion.

“The expansion of my role has me starting property management services in New York, which has completely different rules, regulations, and methods of operation as compared to other Stream markets,” Hamilton said. “I am excited for the opportunity to increase my knowledge of how each market operates in terms of regulations and how to navigate those for daily operations. A lot of networking and travel will also be required to hire the highest-caliber employees, train them, and ensure they are well-taken care of with adequate support. Those are my specialties.”

Hamilton is a board member of the Building Owners and Managers Association D.C. chapter and is active on its legislative and emergency preparedness committees. In her free time, she said she hikes 10 to 12 miles every weekend and loves road trips, traveling, and having friends and family from Scotland stay with her. She also appreciates real estate.

“I love buildings, especially old buildings,” she said. “I remember when I first visited Washington, D.C. before I moved here. I stood on the National Mall in total awe of the buildings that exude power and decided then that I wanted to manage buildings in this city!”

Amanda Coupe

Coupe started at Stream in 2016 and has more than 20 years of commercial real estate and asset management experience in the United States and Germany. She has worked for companies including Cushman & Wakefield, GLP, MB Real Estate, and Morgan Stanley Properties and has managed portfolios of 200 million square feet in Frankfurt. She was a Director of Property Management prior to the promotion.

The ownership team of Macerich and Alaska Permanent Fund Corp. announced that Stream Co-Managing Directors Jeff Roman and Erik McLaughlin and Senior Associate Jaclyn Purzycki will lease Tysons Tower and 1861 International Drive. Stream is a national real estate services, development, and investment company with a growing office in Northern Virginia.

Tysons Tower 

Tysons Tower at 7900 Tysons One Place is the tallest building in Tysons Corner Center at 22 floors. The property features 570,000 square feet of office and retail space and is home to major tenants including Intelsat, Deloitte, and Splunk. Gensler designed the Class A space with its escalator-interconnected two-story lobby, and it delivered in 2014 along with the Silver Line Metro Station.

The tower offers a host of world-class amenities including a fully equipped fitness center with locker rooms, showers, and Peloton bikes; Eddie V’s Prime Seafood restaurant off the lobby; on-site property management; and panoramic views of Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia from a rooftop terrace and the floor-to-ceiling windows on all floors. Marissa Thorne joined the national real estate services, development, and investment firm as a Vice President of Property Management in Northern Virginia. She will work alongside Regional Managing Director Dorothy Hamilton to manage a portfolio of trophy-class assets and provide mentorship for office teams at Reston Commons, Dominion Point, and properties in the Stewart Invest Partners and GI Partners portfolios. She comes to Stream from Brookfield Properties, where she spent nearly 12 years on property management teams in Silver Spring, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Thorne began her career in commercial real estate as a Senior Research Associate at CoStar Group after graduating from Marymount University with a Bachelor of Business Administration concentrated on marketing. She then transitioned into property management, working for Edens & Avant for three years before landing at Brookfield Properties. She has managed more than 3 million square feet of office space during her career.

Thorne is an advocate for making parking garage operations more sustainable. One of her properties had the first Parksmart-certified parking garage through Green Business Certification, Inc., allowing her to assist with developing the certification process for future garages. Among her proudest professional accomplishments has been speaking at various conferences and seminars about the certification process as well as on topics of LED lighting in parking garages and green roofs.

Thorne is a Certified Property Manager candidate through the Institute of Real Estate Management. She is a LEED Green Associate through the U.S. Green Building Council, Fitwel Ambassador for the Center for Active Design, and member of the Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington (AOBA).

She is a graduate and member of Project REAP, The Real Estate Associate Program that advances diversity, equity, and inclusion in the commercial real estate industry through education, mentorship, and partnerships.
